Louis Lenz Inventory # 16 of 71; "Just back of state monument, is another larger one. It seems to have had a large bronze plate on it at one time. It has been removed. There is nothing on it to indicate who placed it there."; location of the red granite stone not known, David Pomeroy believes that it may have been lost to subsidence.
Directions: De Zavala Point, across Buffalo Bayou from the San Jacinto Battleground; form downtown: east bound on I-10, exit 783, Sheldon Road, turn right on Sheldon, four tenths of a mile to 1st stop light turn left on Market St., then one tenth mile turn right on DeZavala; one mile from Market turn right, no street sign, continue one mile, power lines run along left sided of road, concludes at Cemex plant gate; this marker is missing and not at the site
