Louis Lenz Inventory # 15 of 71, site of the home of Lorenzo de Zavala, plank covered log house, the first in the Municipality of Harrisburg, built in 1829, served as a hospital for the wounded after the Battle of San Jacinto, where de Zavala died; per David Pomeroy marker reported as vandalized in February 2005; THC ATLAS gives date as 1968, that is marker #10637; Centennial marker broken in half by hurricane IKE; 11/08; original marker moved to de Zavala Masonic Lodge #1397 and dedicated June 13, 2011; replacement 1936 installed at De Zavala Point and dedicated May 21, 2011

Main 4 blocks to Enid, right on Enid 3 blocks to lodge at 800 blk of Melwood; the marker is on the south side of the lodge building to the right of the entrance door

Site of the home of Lorenzo de Zavala, 1788 - 1836. Signer of the Texas Declaration of Independence. Vice president of the Republic of Texas. His plank-covered log house, the first in the municipality of Harrisburg. Built in 1829, served as a hospital for the wounded after the Battle of San Jacinto. Here de Zavala died, November 15, 1836. Erected by the State of Texas 1936
