Notes:
D.R.T. erected the Sun-Dial in 1939; the W.P.A. constructed a platform in 1937 with three text inserts outlining the development of the battleground area through the support of the D.R.T and making reference to the Sun-Dial's placement; "Houston" magazine April 1938, page 8 reports on the design & plans, it notes that it is placed in the center of the Great Circle on the major axis between the monument & the head of the landing stairway.
