Directions: On Crosby-Lynchburg Road at I-10 East, north of Lynchburg Ferry crossing; marker is on east side of Crosby-Lynchburg, about 35 yards south of frontage intersection. It sits in small landscaped area near the street, adjacent to the west side parking lot of a BBQ business (old gas station)

Established before 1824 by Nathaniel Lynch, one of Austin's first colonists on land granted August 19, 1824. Granted exclusive privilege to operate ferry at this point January 1, 1830, by Ayuntamiento of San Felipe. Now known as Lynchburg Ferry.
