Directions: From Loop 610 East, take SH 225 (LaPorte Freeway/Texas Independence Highway) east to SH 134 (Battleground Road/Independence Parkway); exit Independence Parkway, go north; marking from the light at the west bound feeder & the SH 225 overpass, go 2.3 miles, marker is on the right side of the road

Within a few minutes the Battle of San Jacinto was over. According to General Houston's report, 630 Mexicans lay dead on the field; 208 were wounded and 730 were taken prisoners. Money, arms and equipment were captured. The Texans had 9 killed and 30 wounded
