Directions: From Hwy 59, exit FM 1960, west on 1960 three and seven tenth miles to Cypresswood, right/north on Cypresswood eight tenths of a mile to Tetter Cemetery Road (unmarked); the road to the cemetery has a locked double gate; there is a second double gate approx. 100 yards east of Cypresswood; the entrance gate/fence line for Tetter cemetery is about 100 feet past the second set of gates; Tetter Black Cemetery is adjacent to the southeast corner of Tetter Cemetery but not accessible from this cemetery

Key Time Period: 1866 - 1876 Reconstruction

Corretions/New Research:

Small plaque on post reads "Burial Site of Caldonia Tetter The first person buried here... ". Additional research indicates that Caldonia Tetter (wife of David Edward Higgs) died ca. 1885-1887. At least two burials here predate her death. She was born September 10, ca. 1857.
