Corretions/New Research: City of Katy plaque: This house was built in 1916 for the Adam Henry Stockdick family. It was located at the corner of Fourth St. and Ave. A. Mr. Stockdick worked as Katy's first real estate agent. In 1929 the house was purchased by their son William Chester Stockdick, who lived in the house with his wife Zeta (Morrison) until their deaths. The house remained in the Stockdick family until it was acquired by Frist United Methodist Church Katy in 2001. In 2002 the house and fence were donated to the Katy Heritage Society and in 2003 it was moved to Katy Heritage Park.

Marker Text: Sesquicentennial text: This home was built in 1916 by Walter Adcock for Adam Henry Stockdick. In 1929 the home was purchased by his son William Chester Stockdick and wife, Zeta Morrison Stockdick. They lived in this home until their deaths. Their son Adam Maurice Stockdick still resides in this home. This home has never been moved and was remodeled only once. In 1956 two bedrooms and a bath were added to the rear of the home. (1986)
